Methodologies and frameworks.

Methodologies establish how an outcome is assessed. Frameworks define the rules and the evidence for verifying the recycling of organic waste (Biowaste) and the reduction of emissions.

  • Methane emission reduction

    BOLD Carbon (CH₄)

Applies the UNFCCC's AMS-III.F methodology to verifying methane emission reductions from composting.

    Certificate
    GasID
    Associated credit
    C-CARB.CH4
  • Biowaste recycling

    BOLD Recycling

Defines the rules for verifying the origin, mass, route and recycling of Biowaste by composting.

    Certificate
    RecycledID
    Associated credit
    C-BIOW

What has to be verified.

The BOLD frameworks verify the material, the participants and the treatment. BOLD Carbon (CH₄) also includes the calculation of the methane emission reduction.

What the rules verify

Origin, type and mass of the material

Origin
Identification of the generator and the place of origin.
Type
Compatibility of the waste with the types the framework accepts.
Mass
Weighing records and consistency across the documents.
  1. Operation records
  2. Framework rules
  3. Certificate

The framework pages carry the rules and their references. The documentation presents how the network's methodologies are structured.
